One of the most cost effective ways to improve the efficiency of your heating system is your controls. The latest smart controls can improve efficiency by up to £150 per year (estimated).
Smart thermostats work with a range of heating systems. Have a back boiler? Not a problem: most smart thermostats work with new and old systems, making them a cost effective way to save on your fuel bills. Or replace the back boiler with a new condensing boiler and add a smart thermostat, and you could save up to £350 per year.
Most smart thermostats can use geofencing. Your phone tells the thermostat when you are in or near home, so the heating won't fire up on its schedule unless you are in range. It stops your heating coming on when it isn't needed.
Most smart thermostats can read the weather and outside temperature, and learn how long your home takes to reach your target. Set 20°C for 3 pm on a 3°C day: if day one misses by 30 minutes, day two starts 20 minutes earlier, and it keeps learning until it hits the target on time.
